Essential and very contemporary design for Con.tradition, the luminous lanterns designed by Sara Bernardi and inspired by the Chinese Heritage able to match the minimalism of contemporary style (Con.temporary), and the preciousness of Chinese antique furniture style (.tradition). The result is a contradictory mix of two opposite identities, the western modern world with its strong and rough materials and the oriental traditional culture full of elegant archetypes.
A collection of lamps while combining romantic atmosphere and industrial style, will illuminate creating unique and extraordinary contrasts of lights and shadows.
Available in 4 sizes Con.tradition lanterns are black lacquered, the black is indeed the perfect colour to enchance the roughness of the steel.

Sara Bernardi is an Italian Architect and Designer, she was born in Rome in 1979 where she graduated in 2004. She aquired a wide-ranging expertise of project’s scales and programmes, developing over the years a cross-boundaries experience, from architecture and interior design, to product design and details.
She worked for internationally renowned companies, such as Fuksas, Graft and Ian+ between Italy and China before founding her own Atelier in Beijing, MICROmacro. She worked in very challeging and multicultural environments, being involved in ambitious and prestigious projects in China, south east Asia, USA and Italy, As of this writing, she lives and works between Beijing and Rome.
She worked for Graft Beijing as Project Manager on several architectural and Interios projects ranging from high rise residential & office buildings, Boutique hotel & Resorts, and Private luxury villas.
While at Fuksas Architects She served as Project Manager for many international projects, including the Shenzhen Bao’an international Airport New Terminal 3, the Armani 5th Avenue New York, Benetton Rome flagship store in Rome.
In the research carried out with her Atelier, she developed a deep interest for the relation between different identities and scales, focusing on the grafting of different cultural heritages. In the attempt of bluring the boundaries that divide the various aspects of creativity, Art, Architecture and Design, She led to merge her Italian design background with inspirations and researches articulated from local to global influences, thanks to a distinctive sensibility for materiality and texture, and a particular focus on the quality of the detail.
Her design collection and installations have been widely published in many international design magazines, and have been exhibited in many international design events and prestigious galleries including: Triennale di Milano, Milano Salone del Mobile, Today Art Museum Beijing, Chambers Fine Arts Beijing & New York, Beijing Design Week, Operae Indipendent Design Festival Turin.
